Frequently asked questions:

Do you need to visit our house to give us a quote?

No. We give an estimate over the phone based on the information you give us. We keep our pricing very simple, so as long as the information you give us is accurate, we'll stick to the price we give over the phone.

Is stain treatment included in your general pricing?

No, although we can do a small amount of treatment before we begin charging, mainly to judge whether a stain is able to be removed.
Some areas that you think are stained, may actually only be spots, or heavy soiling, that actually haven't stained the carpet and will come out during the regular cleaning process. We class stains as being areas where a spill has actually changed the colour of (dyed) the carpet. Stains such as softdrinks, wine, juice, coffee etc can take a lot of time and effort to improve or remove. We can give you an idea of cost over the phone - although often we can't give an estimate until we're on site. Click here to go to our pages for info on stain treatment, and animal stains.

Do you still charge for stain treatment if the stain doesn't come out?

Yes we do. The process takes time and resources - although normally we can tell quite quickly whether a stain will respond to treatment, and stop the process if it doesn't look like being successful, so it's unlikely that we'll spend a long time working on a stain and get no improvement. We will sometimes advise against stain treatment from the start if we don't think it will be successful.

Can you move furniture?

We generally don't move any furniture. Most houses we clean are completely empty, although we do still clean furnished homes. If you require us to clean a furnished house, we'll ask you to move as much furniture as you can to uncarpeted areas such as kitchens, tiled areas or verandahs. We can leave you with plastic squares to place underneath any furniture legs that could possibly leave marks on damp carpet.

How long does the carpet take to dry??

Every carpet is different - after we've completed our deep cleaning process the carpet is "damp", but not "soaked". Often during summer months we find that carpets can be dry in as little as 4-6 hours. In the winter months however carpets can take a lot longer. Some will dry within 12 hours, and some will take up to 2-3 days to dry completely. Factors that influence drying are air movement, temperature, humidity and style of carpet. A carpet that is a short loop pile, on a warm breezy day will dry very quickly, whereas a thick and heavy cut pile carpet on a still, freezing winters day will take very much longer to dry. Carpets can still be walked and lived on while the drying process is taking place - as long as the feet are clean!
